Katie and Aro met online through an MMORG when they were just hitting teen years. Katie lives in America, although she loathes the fact. She itches to go abroad and travel, and has a particular interest in foreign languages. She is currently going to University and intends to get her major in Linguistics, with a minor in Modern Languages. She is currently taking French and plans to follow up with Mandarin Chinese within the next year or so. She dreams of getting a part-time job at a café or coffee shop. Katie is addicted to coffee of any variety. Except hazelnut flavors. Hazelnut is nasty. Katie predicts that she spends at least $30 on coffee per weak, more if she has an essay due. She also loves Chai Lattes and anything with double espresso shots. She hates her current job, and is enduring her first year away from home. She only lives three hours away from home, but it’s still pretty far and she can’t just ‘drop everything and go say hi’ because she is a full-time student with a stable job. Despite that, she is happy to have a new start in a place where no one knows her.
Aro, on the other hand, lives in Australia. He has been talking with Katie online for four years. They often skype, and as of lately, they have been anxious to meet in person. Aro went to a University for two years. He realized that college wasn’t the place for him as much as he wanted it to be. Aro now works in a trade, but often ponders the thought of joining the military. Katie tells him he can’t, that is, unless he wears a sexy eyepatch like Tom Cruise in Valkyrie, to which Aro always rolls his eyes. He has an obsession with Tea, and surprisingly, enjoys coffee just as much (though clearly not as much as Katie). He has a habit of getting hurt, but is too stubborn for bedrest. He is such a working man!
After for years, Katie and Aro finally met in person. Aro visited the U.S when his father decided to visit his American family (Father=American, mother= Australian). They were iffy on meeting in person, both fearing the other would be completely different than the person they talked to for four years online. They are pleasantly surprised to find each other’s company even more enjoyable in person, and make plans for future visits.
